Tree of Life

Creating "The Tree of Life" was both a personal and artistic exploration. The tree of life represents as above, so below. In my opion, that translates to we need to nourish what is below the surface, so we can flourish. This piece was born from a desire to capture the essence of life and growth, symbolized by the tree—a universal archetype of strength and renewal. I sought to create a sculpture that not only represented these themes but also invited viewers to experience the magic of transformation and healing, along with the energy and empowerment from the crystals I chose for this piece. By integrating natural materials and spiritual elements, I aimed to craft a work that resonates on multiple levels, offering a space for reflection, healing, inspiration, and love, for self as well as other.

The tree trunk and branches are detailed with paper mache clay, a medium that offered flexibility and texture. This choice allowed me to sculpt intricate details, giving life to the rugged bark and delicate branches. The use of paper mache clay was an intentional nod to the idea of transformation—taking that confined, constricting shape of one thing to create something new, beautiful and intricate.

The leaves of "The Tree of Life" are crafted from rose quartz, strawberry quartz, and amethyst because of they are associated with love and healing. Their presence in the sculpture embodies the nurturing aspect of the tree. Both promoting the calmness and spiritual awareness, qualities I hoped to infuse into the piece. The combination of these crystals creates a dynamic interplay of color and energy, symbolizing the balance and harmony found in nature.
